Freegle Teams

There are several national teams of people in Freegle, along with individual national roles.

A list showing who does what in Freegle can be found in Modtools under 'Teams'. If you would like to join any of these teams, just email them and offer.

Teams and individuals with national roles (volunteers and contractors):

• Ads Monitoring - team checking Google ads suitability for the website
• App Developer - developing and maintaining the Freegle apps*
• Board - The Board of Directors
• Board Secretary - organising and recording Board meetings
• ChitChat - moderation team for UK wide member chitchat on the website*
• Councils - working with councils to try to get them to promote Freegle more
• Data Protection - Data Protection Officer to help Freegle 'keep it legal' with our use of data
• Director of Media - dealing with national social media accounts and other publicity/promotional activities
• Discourse Support Team Remit - team moderating Central and Cafe Groups on Discourse*
• Geeks - looking after the website, FD, Apps and anything else IT!*
• Gift Aid - team checking gift aid declarations*
• Governance Wonk - role supporting the Board in maintaining high standards of governance, compliance, and transparency
• Mailbox Team - manning the national Freegle info@ mailbox*
• Mentors Team - helping new groups and any other groups with practical support*
• New Groups Team (NGT) - team affiliating new communities to Freegle and sorting out boundaries for existing local communities*
• Newsletter - team reviewing member's stories to include in a regular newsletter - Council Newsletters
• Ombudsman - final arbiters for our Complaints Procedure *
• Operations Team
• Platform Developer - keeping our website up to date*
• Returning Officers - team organising the AGM and annual election of Directors*
• Social Media Team - helping local teams keep their Facebook and Twitter accounts linked and accessible*
• Spammer List - team reviewing spam reports from local groups, to check if needing to be included on national spammer list*
• Support - manning the national Freegle support@ mailbox*
• Training Team - coordinating team for training new moderators*
• Treasurer - keeping our finances ship shape, reporting to the Board*
• Trustpilot - responding to national Trustpilot reviews of Freegle
• Wiki - wiki editing is open to all, but this team pays particular attention to its upkeep
