Your local council can help promote your Freegle community in all sorts of ways. Here are some suggestions you could make to them:
- Add information about your Freegle community to the council's intranet, if it has one.
- Mention your Freegle community during school presentations.
- Produce stickers for wheelie bins advertising your Freegle community.
- Include your Freegle community in any waste-related roadshows.
- Have a refuse truck signed with the Freegle logo and your community's web address.
- Advertise your Freegle community on lamp posts, at cycle parking, on banners at traffic lights, or on roundabouts.
- Produce clear signs, leaflets or cards promoting your Freegle community at landfill sites.
- Include your Freegle community in presentations on waste and the three Rs.
- Include your Freegle community in packs for new tenants, residents and businesses, where these exist.
- Include your Freegle community in staff training, especially for staff who deal with queries about special item collections, such as fridges and sofas.
- Access funding on behalf of your Freegle community to create advertising materials, such as bookmarks, pens, posters, stickers and leaflets.
- Make information about your Freegle community available at every One Stop Shop (local council access point), as leaflets or posters.

- Sponsored all-weather banners
- Photocopied publicity leaflets
- Agreed for local Freegle volunteers to use their public liability insurance where applicable
- Invited local Freegle volunteers to summer roadshows, give-and-take days and eco fairs, with a free plot next to the council's recycling officers
- Given permission to use council property for promoting Freegle - gazebos, chairs, tables, notice boards
