What is a QR code?
QR codes are the square, blocky equivalent of barcodes or website addresses.
What does it look like?

When you focus a smartphone or tablet camera on the code, it takes you to the Freegle home page.
Where do I get one?
You can copy and paste a QR code into a banner or leaflet - anywhere it's easier to point a device than to jot down a website address.
June 2026: you can generate your own Freegle QR code at http://ilovefreegle.org/qr - use any URL, no tracking.
Also, https://www.ilovefreegle.org/shortlinks/ has a Download QR button, which gives a QR code for any group with shortlinks; these are tracked when used.
How should I use it?

How long will it last?
Freegle subscribed to a code that remained live for three years, until August 2021 - though it still seemed to be working in 2023.
Can I track the effectiveness of a particular campaign, poster or leaflet?
