Subjection:  Transaction rating system
We do get complaints about people failing to collect items, or failing to respond to members - and we know many members don't report no-shows, and just give up, which means more stuff ends up going to landfill.

Some of you may have noticed that we now have a system for rating transactions.  When a member posts a Taken or Received message they will be asked if they want to rate the transaction.  This system is hoping to address some of the problems members have with 'no shows'. It is unfortunate that the very few bad experiences do seem to outweigh all the good ones sometimes.
So we're giving you the chance to see some feedback about other members, beyond just the thumbs up/down symbols. Click "View Profile" at the top of a chat to see some basic information about the member requesting your item.

All members start on two stars. You can rate them up or down. You can only rate the same member once.
We hope this encourages people to only ask for an item if they're actually going to collect it, because everyone can see if you've asked for items but not collected them. To allow for one genuine change of mind, the profile only starts flagging this after the "unpromise" button has been used against a member a second time within a 90-day period. If someone has to be unpromised more than once, we think it's fair for people to see they're less likely to actually collect.

A members rating does not change unless they have three clear ratings, whether good or bad.  Members cannot leave comments and other members cannot see who has rated them.
It also shows how many times/items the member has collected, so you can choose to offer to someone shown to be reliable, or to someone who rarely asks. For example:

If you rate the transaction before the item has been collected or received, you can go back later and change the rating.

: We don't know how long they typically take to reply.
: Not received any items yet, so far as we know.
: Activity in the last 90 days: 1 reply. No recent Offers. No recent Wanteds.

Members who end up with a bad rating may not be bad members. They may have a 'bouncing' email address, they might have unreliable internet access, they may not be giving out clear descriptions of items, or they could be woolly in the collection arrangements they make.
This system is automated, so we can't change it on request. If you have a "failed to collect" mark against you, you'll need to wait 90 days for it to be removed - it's up to you to collect as promised.

We hope these members will get in touch with the moderators in order to improve their rating.

This is an admin message you can send to members about the feedback system.

We're pleased to announce we have an automated feedback system in place.

We do get complaints about people failing to collect items, or failing to respond to members - and we know many members don't report no-shows, and just give up, which means more stuff ends up going to landfill.

So we're giving you the chance to see some feedback about other members, beyond just the thumbs up/down symbols. Click "View Profile" at the top of a chat to see some basic information about the member requesting your item.

It also shows how many times/items the member has collected, so you can choose to offer to someone shown to be reliable, or to someone who rarely asks. For example:

Ely Freegle, 4.9 miles away.
Freegler since 20th July 2013.
We don't know how long they typically take to reply.
Not received any items yet, so far as we know.
Activity in the last 90 days: 1 reply. No recent Offers. No recent Wanteds.

This system is automated, so we can't change it on request. If you have a "failed to collect" mark against you, you'll need to wait 90 days for it to be removed - it's up to you to collect as promised.
