Claiming Jobseeker's Allowance?

Rules on volunteering while claiming JSA (correct as of September 2013, DWP guidance P14 Section R4073) suggest that claimants can do as much voluntary work as they want, but must not spend less than 50% of their expected work hours looking for work (e.g. if it is agreed a claimant is looking for work of 35 hours per week, they have to spend at least 17.5 hours looking for work, regardless of how much volunteering they are doing). See: http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/admr4.pdf
