Claiming Job Seekers Allowance?

Current rules (Sept 2013) on volunteering whilst claiming JSA, P14 (Section R4073:

http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/admr4.pdf suggests that claimants can do as much voluntary work as they want, but must not spend less than 50% of expected work hours looking for work, (e.g. if it is agreed a claimant is looking for work of 35 hours per week, they have to spend at least 17.5 hours looking for work, regardless of how much volunteering they are doing.)
