Volunteers Week June 1 - 7

Cat tweeted about this - celebrating the good that Freegle volunteers do around the UK for communities and the environment. As part of this we held our first #freeglehour on Twitter, where we try to get people tweeting and engaging at the same time. We aim to do this monthly.

STRATEGY/STRUCTURE

Safeguarding

We agreed to recommend to Central the statement prepared by the Structure Working Group.

Mailbox

info@ilovefreegle.org

Jacky let us know that Kylie, Croydon has joined the mailbox team.

Paying for services

We discussed some of the issues surrounding paying for services and have identified areas of work that are being carried out for Freegle.

Payment for Volunteers

We noted that this poll on Central was carried with a majority vote. This means that any Volunteer - whether elected, active centrally, or not - can receive payment for services for Freegle, as long as everything is properly documented and the process is fair and transparent. Structure Working Group will consider the relevant policies and procedures that need to be adjusted to enable this to happen.

Returning Officer Election

We nominated Jacky to act as our representative for the Reps responsibilities in the Returning Officer election.

OTHER

Wirral Recycle

We were advised that this Group had been accidentally deleted. The Reps coordinated with the Group Affiliation/LaunchTeam and Geeks and we’re pleased to say that Wirral Freegle is now up and running.
