Poll notified by special notice on Central and to all -owner addresses 26th October 2012.

Question 1:

We have already agreed that co-option and auto-promotion procedures should be adopted, (Co-opting for an Elected Role and Elected Roles Autopromotion). In order to implement these fully, our Constitution needs a small amendment from the current wording of:
7.7 If a vacancy arises mid term for a Rep, an election will be called of all Freegle Volunteers.
to
7.7 If a vacancy arises mid term for a Rep, an election will be called of all Freegle Volunteers, subject to the agreed procedures for auto-promotion and co-option.

This amendment will only be implemented if it gains the support of at least 66% of those voting in this specific poll.

Response Count

  • Yes, I agree with the amendment 87
  • No, I disagree with the amendment 1
  • Abstain 2
  • Total responses: 90

The proposal is therefore carried with a 96% majority of those voting.

Question 2:

We propose a simplification of our current national polling procedures in order to increase the democratic process by ensuring it is used more often.

Essentially the change is to move most polling to Freegle UK Central, notifying via Special Notice, instead of mailing to all owner addresses. Polling on the Constitution, constitutional matters and all elections will remain as 'owner address' notifications.

The changes required to make this happen are detailed here 2012 Poll.

The highest number of votes for any option presented will be considered as a binding majority decision.

Response Count

  • Yes, I agree with the procedure 84
  • No, I disagree with the procedure 4
  • Abstain 2
  • Total responses: 90

The proposal is therefore carried with a 93% majority of those voting.
