This is an admin message reminding members how to arrange safe collection of offers.

With busy lives, it's often more convenient to leave things out in an accessible place to be collected - some people prefer this even when they're at home, whether for personal safety, to avoid unnecessary contact, or simply for convenience.

We'd urge members to take precautions to stop items being taken by anyone other than the person who arranged to collect them. Try to arrange a collection time so the item is only left out for as short a time as possible. You could also leave it somewhere accessible but not immediately visible to passers-by - for example, inside a recycling bin (not on your council collection day!). If more than one item is out for different collectors, label each one clearly.

If you're collecting an item that's been left out, please only take what's been promised to you - taking anything else is theft.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your volunteers at XXXX-volunteers@groups.ilovefreegle.org

Thank you for being a member of $groupname.

A note on items left in a public place, e.g. on a pavement: this technically counts as fly-tipping, even with a "Free" notice attached. Equally, taking such items is technically theft unless they've been given specifically to the person picking them up.
