Central Support
We support each other across Freegle. Every volunteer on an affiliated group is valued equally, but we all have different skills and experience, so we've built systems and procedures to make it easier to find help.
General everyday questions
For queries about the everyday running of your community, ask on Central Groups or the Working Groups. A wide range of people there are happy to share their experience and advice.
One-to-one help
If you're a new group and would like a more personal approach to help you through the early days, the Mentor Team is there to help - see Mentor Team Remit. Just email mentors@ilovefreegle.org.
Friendly contact
If you'd like to speak to someone who can point you in the right direction without posting on a large group, the Mailbox team at info@ilovefreegle.org can help. Freegle Mailbox Guidelines explains the parameters they, and other Freegle mailboxes, work within.
Mediation and appeals
Sometimes issues arise that need a formal, confidential route, so we offer a Complaints Procedure.
This is a more formal way of resolving disputes between parties within Freegle. We work collaboratively, so informal support comes first - talking things over with fellow volunteers (or a long-suffering spouse or partner), or raising issues on the Freegle central or working groups. But sometimes issues escalate and need third-party help, and that's where the Complaints Procedure comes in.
The Complaints Procedure isn't something to use lightly, but it's there so that everyone gets a fair hearing.
