Depending on age, some of these may have been withdrawn from sale or use, have lost potency, or may not act as expected.
Some traditional remedies have been banned, on the other hand, some brands have been reformulated to keep them legal.
The Royal Horticultural Society provides a list of the active ingredients which have been withdrawn so that Freegle members can dispose of them safely; failing which, recipients can check if they are usable.
