Slug Pellets

From Freegle Wiki

Slug pellets containing metaldehyde can no longer be sold or used in the UK, as of 1 April 2022, because they pose an unacceptable risk to birds, dogs and other mammals.

Slugs and snails are no longer classified as pests. Organic and wildlife-friendly methods of protecting plants are recommended. Slug killers based on ferric phosphate (iron III phosphate) are an option if used sparingly and stored safely - they affect the gut system of slugs and snails, causing them to stop feeding and die within three to six days.

Overall, though, it seems sensible to refuse any offers or requests for slug pellets on Freegle.
