The Direct Events feature is available to all members who've joined a community via the Freegle website or app (as opposed to other interfaces such as TrashNothing).

They go onto the  the side panel to the right of the posts.
On the website, you'll find Events via the Events tab in the top menu, or to the left of the main message body on the ChitChat page.

They cannot be shown to Facebook users because the side panel stuff is kept by them for advertising. However  they do get sent a notification each time one is posted.
Moderators get a notification so they can check a post before it goes live.

Yahoo members will be sent a weekly summary.
If you want an event removed before its expiry date, email support@ilovefreegle.org. Alterations should be resubmitted as a new post, with the original deleted.

Moderators receive an email to the owner address,  so that they can verify the post before allowing it.
For an example admin notice to tell your members about the Events facility, see Sample Admin: Events.

Moderators should keep this mail in a folder, as if you later decide to remove it, you can just click on the refuse link within it.
By default, members receive email notifications about events (the Community Event Roundup), though they can switch this off in Settings. Notifications go out weekly on Thursdays, repeating until the event expires.

If you want it removed before the expiry date and don't have this email then please mail support @ ilovefreegle.org

The Direct Events feature is available to all members who've joined a community via the Freegle website or app (as opposed to other interfaces such as TrashNothing).

On the website, you'll find Events via the Events tab in the top menu, or to the left of the main message body on the ChitChat page.

Moderators get a notification so they can check a post before it goes live.

If you want an event removed before its expiry date, email support@ilovefreegle.org. Alterations should be resubmitted as a new post, with the original deleted.

For an example admin notice to tell your members about the Events facility, see Sample Admin: Events.

By default, members receive email notifications about events (the Community Event Roundup), though they can switch this off in Settings. Notifications go out weekly on Thursdays, repeating until the event expires.
