We've all received them: dire warnings of a virus or bug that will wipe your computer clean and empty your bank account. Before forwarding one on to all your friends, it's worth checking whether the warning is genuine or just a hoax. Two good sites that can help are https://www.hoax-slayer.com/ and https://www.snopes.com.

Another good habit is to use BCC rather than share all your friends' email addresses with each other. Here is a helpful page explaining this.
