Beach sand, stones, driftwood, seashells etc

There is various legislation relating to items found on beaches around our coasts.

Sand is unlawful to remove from a beach

Stones and pebbles are unlawful to remove from a beach

Seaglass is OK to remove

Seashells are Ok to remove, (as long as uninhabited), but are part of the ecosystem of the beach

Driftwood is OK to to remove, but, like shells, are part of the ecosystem of the beach

Fossils are OK to remove, but interesting and rare items should be reported to local scientific/museum establishment
