AGM 2011 Proposal for National Volunteers Procedure
AGM 2011
Proposal for National Volunteers procedure
Our constitution defines Freegle Volunteers as:
"Each Owner, Moderator and volunteer of local groups affiliated with Freegle shall be regarded as an equal member of the Freegle organisation. A member of the Freegle organisation will be referred to as a Volunteer or Freegle Volunteer. Other persons assisting Freegle though not managing a local group may also be accepted as members of the FreegleUK Central group; such persons shall also be regarded as equal members of the organisation, and shall also be known as Volunteers or Freegle Volunteers."
Structure Working Group proposes that the following procedure is adopted for volunteers who have kindly offered to help Freegle nationally:
a. National volunteers have to be nominated by an existing Volunteer.
b. Nominations are submitted to the Reps who will approve or not approve the nomination at their discretion.
c. If a nomination is turned down, the Volunteer nominating can appeal via the Appeal Procedure if they wish.
d. If a nomination is accepted, the Reps will inform the nominated and nominating Volunteer and encourage the option of joining Central in order that they can keep informed about the wider activities of Freegle and to guarantee access to the voting process.
e. If the Volunteer approved under this procedure seems to be dormant, Reps can remove them, at their discretion, open to appeal from that Volunteer under our usual procedure.
This proposal is subject to adoption by a poll at the 2011 AGM by a simple majority of over 50% of those voting. Any subsequent amendments should be proposed via a Working Group to the Reps who can approve proposed amendments for a trial period, subject to ratification within 6 months by a poll of Freegle Volunteers or at an AGM, with a simple majority of over 50% of those voting.
Poll question: Should the above proposal; be adopted?:
