It is legal to buy and own a radio scanner, but there are restrictions on the use of them.  Most groups would probably take the view that as these can be bought, they don't fail the 'legal' test of items for Freegle groups.
It is legal to buy, own and give away radio scanners. There are certain restrictions on their use but as we don't police what people do with items after receiving them, they don't fail our 'legal' criteria.

It is legal to buy, own and give away radio scanners. There are certain restrictions on their use but as we don't police what people do with items after receiving them, they don't fail our 'legal' criteria.
