The Freegle Volunteer Wiki was reorganised in July 2026 to make the day-to-day guidance easier to find. This page records what changed.

What changed

  • The volunteer guidance is grouped into topic sections (see the Main Page), each opening with a short guide and a suggested reading order rather than a bare list of links.
  • How Freegle is run - roles, remits, policies - is kept as current reference, separate from the day-to-day guidance.
  • Dated records (meeting reports, AGMs, board minutes) moved into a clearly-marked Archive, keeping their original year and series subcategories, so they no longer clutter browsing or search.
  • The wording on the operational pages was modernised - Yahoo Groups-era references updated to Freegle Direct, the app, ModTools, ChitChat and Discourse; Twitter/X removed as a current channel. Historical mentions of Yahoo in reports and minutes are left alone, as history.
  • Full-text search deprioritises the archive, so everyday guidance comes first.

What did not change

The facts, rules, policies, prices and links on each page are preserved - only the structure and wording were tidied. Archive pages are kept verbatim, as records.

Every page keeps its full edit history. The reorganisation was applied as ordinary edits, so the previous version of any page is one click away under "View history", and anything can be reverted in the normal way.

The wiki remains open to every volunteer to edit - see Help with the Wiki.
