1. What is Freegle

1.1 Introduction

Freegle provides an online platform for the free giving and receiving of items in local communities, run mainly by volunteers.

Most people working in Freegle communities, locally and nationally, are volunteers. They come together as a mutually supportive network, and as a grassroots organisation all volunteers are encouraged to take part in discussion and decisions.

Membership of Freegle is open to all volunteers who want to participate fully in national decisions and support the organisation. Membership gives voting rights and the right to stand for election as a Director on the Board.

The Board comprises persons appointed to perform the duties of directors of the Society, primarily by Member election.
