The Group Affiliation Team wanted guidance on:
1. Whether there are circumstances in which a group covering a population of more than 500,000 and a number of towns and districts/parts of districts could be affiliated to Freegle.
2. Whether there are circumstances in which the Group Affiliation Team could affiliate a group for an area, the name of which is interpreted very differently by different people/sources, e.g. wasn't a town, county or a local government district,
The current guidelines are here. Discussion has continued on this topic. Arguments for and against approving groups for areas covering population sizes of more than 500,000 were put forward. There has been no agreement as yet on changing the current guidelines.
