Central UK Summary - April 2016
Freegle UK Central: Summary of items of interest
April 2016 (528 members, 223 posts)
April was a bit of a humdrum month in Central. There was lots of chit-chat as usual, but not a great deal of significance to summarise here.
Courier scam news
Just one scam item turned up in April, but there was a new twist to it – the post did not have a Cameroon IP address (it originated in the UK) and the poster was not a particularly recent joiner. But the item itself was a bit of a giveaway – an embroidery machine – and the wording of the post was typically clumsy.
Freestock
The annual Freestock gathering will take place over the weekend 15-18 July 2016 at the Hertford Camping and Caravanning Club Site at Hertford. You can find more information about it at message number 58314, or in the Freestock café group https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/FreeStock-Cafe/info
Volunteer Support role
Development group has been discussing a job specification for a paid Volunteer Support role. The need for this role was identified some time ago; the Microsoft funding now gives the opportunity to invite tenders to provide it. Join the group at http://freegle.in/development if you are interested in defining what this job should entail.
New platform – update
Edward’s most recent update on the development of the new platform can be found at message number 58310. It all looks very complicated! Detailed discussions take place on the Tech group which anyone is free to join.
