Tasers and stun guns
Tasers and stun guns are illegal to own, other than in very specific exceptions (police etc), so they're not allowed to be requested or offered on Freegle.
UK law specifies that possession of a non-lethal taser is a criminal offence, and if the taser is disguised as another object, such as a torch, the offence carries a minimum prison term of 5 years.
Sale and possession of stun guns is controlled under the Firearms Act 1968, because the electrical discharge they produce is classed as "noxious". This means possessing, purchasing, acquiring, manufacturing, selling or transferring one is a criminal offence in the UK.
When rejecting an offer, volunteers might suggest the battery be removed (if possible) and the device handed in to a police station.
