Raising funds for Freegle

Our members have been extremely generous over the years. Many people have filled their homes with things they couldn’t otherwise afford. We would like to be here for many more years, but times are tough. Freegle, just like many other charities and other organisations, is struggling for funds. Most of the work is done free by hundreds of volunteers, and even our directors work for free, but we do have some unavoidable costs. Servers and IT costs are our most expensive things to fund, and we are fast running out of cash. We have a brilliant deal with a fantastic hosting company, and the costs of this are mostly covered by specific gifts. However, we also need funds for the IT skills to keep our software going and evolve, the time to keep Freegle in the public eye, and our work to try to get councils to take reuse seriously.

We know people are struggling to get by right now and we do understand that not everyone is in a position to help us with donations; yet we have no choice but to go cap in hand and appeal to our members to help us by giving a small donation if you can. Right now Freegle is needed more than ever because of the cost of living crisis and so many are unable to fund the things they need for everyday life, clothes, shoes, baby equipment and more. Essentials that kind Freeglers can and do help with. If you can help us to help them, and keep Freegle going by making a small donation, we would really appreciate every penny. Ongoing monthly donations are especially helpful.
