The consensus was that it was acceptable to allow posts of fire extinguishers with the exception of those containing Halon. Halon extinguishers are not legal to own and use.
It might be appropriate to mention having other extinguishers checked out as safe, and to be aware if using old extinguishers that they might not work as intended for extinguishing fires.
