To keep Central a friendly and supportive place for all volunteers we should:

- run a regular survey to include feedback for why people have joined or left, why they would choose special notices and whether the moderation in place is acceptable
- apply a very light touch moderation process only, with the priority to keep Central as unmoderated as possible
- only use moderation when messages are abusive, overtly aggressive or threatening
Moderation process:
- the Central mods team have responsibility for moderation on the group
- allow all with mod privileges on Central to act in 'emergencies' to put a member on moderation
- anyone put on moderation must be informed immediately
- the period of moderation to be kept as short as possible and lifted when mod(s) are happy that the problem is sorted
- Central to be told moderation is in effect
- moderation for messages on Central will only be implemented on Central, other central group moderators will take advice from the Central mod team if a member posts on their group and run a parallel moderation of member if necessary
- messages received from moderated members to be processed as quickly as possible - either returned or approved
Central Guidelines
The guidelines for using are sent in the Welcome Message to all new members.
Freegle UK Central is open to anyone who is a Freegle UK volunteer. We ask all members to respect that this is a private group - the information contained within the group is for Freegle owners, moderators and volunteers only.
This is a self-moderated forum and as such we have no 'rules', but these are the guidelines we would like you to follow. By joining the group you agree to follow the guidelines below and agree that the Central Mod Team may moderate posts in extreme circumstances.
1. Please be polite and treat fellow members with respect.
2. Please use emoticons where possible, or something like (grin) to indicate your tone. If in doubt of another poster's tone, assume they are speaking neutrally. It is easier on your blood pressure.
3. Please do not use insulting, derogatory or obscene language toward fellow members.
4. Please do not forward in full or in part any correspondence unless the sender gives their consent.
5. What is posted on Freegle, stays on Freegle!
6. Our behaviour here and elsewhere. Freeglers need NOT lower themselves to win the day. It is imperative we hold ourselves to the highest standards of behaviour.
Thank you very much. Please enjoy your stay in Freegle UK Central! :)
In Freegle we always welcome feedback and if you feel any of the above guidelines could be improved, or are being ignored, please feel free to e-mail the owners. centralmods@ilovefreegle.org
