Members can add photos to their posts. A few things to note:
- Photos can be attached whether posting to Freegle Direct by email or on the web.
- Freegle Direct shows the first photo uploaded first; the order can't be changed afterwards.
- The Freegle app has an "Add photo" button, after which you choose "Add photo" (take one) or "Choose photo".
Members can add photos to chats. Note:
- If an image is too small (under 150px wide or tall), it won't be included - this helps filter out typical logo footers.
- If an image's aspect ratio is under 0.5 or over 1.5, it won't be included. Most genuine photos are fairly close to square, so this helps catch and stop banner images from emails.
Stories submitted by members can include photos if they wish.
Members can add a photo to their profile via the Upload Photo button in Settings -> Personal Information.
Volunteers can include a photo of themselves in their profile, for members to see if they wish. In ModTools -> Settings -> Personal Settings, you can choose whether your members see that you're a volunteer. If you opt in, your profile picture for the email address you're using will appear on your communities' home page, alongside the name you choose.
Safeguarding issues should be considered when members post an offer or request - good practice is to reject or remove any photo that includes children, and possibly adults too. See Safeguarding FAQ for more.
