HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER ROLE AND REMIT

ROLE

The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for providing information and guidance on health and safety matters to the Board, Members and Volunteers to enable them to be responsible for their own safety.

REMIT

  • To develop, implement and monitor Board Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Programs, and Procedures;
  • To assist the Board in complying with current health and safety legislation and/or regulations;
  • To monitor health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization;
  • To respond to volunteers’ safety concerns;
  • To act as liaison with all related governmental bodies and regulating agencies.
