Sample message: Event

Sample messages you can use if a member advertises an event as an offer or wanted post.

Default message used by caretaker communities for a pending straight event advert:

Dear Freegle Member,

I'm sorry, Freegle communities are only for gifting items, so we can't accept your post for an event. However, you're welcome to use our Community Events feature on the website to advertise your event.

Just sign in and select Events from the menu. The posting will go out to members in our events digest.

Default message used by caretaker communities for an event advert within a pending acceptable offer or wanted post:

Dear Freegle Member

I'm sorry but I've had to edit your post today to remove the details of your charity event. We don't allow members to advertise events on the boards. You're welcome to say you're requesting the items for a charity event and to name the charity you're collecting for, but please don't post the venue, time or date. We have a lot of members who post on behalf of charities who haven't been allowed to advertise their event on the main boards, so it would be unfair to allow you to advertise the time and date of the event within your request for items.

You could use our Events feature on the website to let members know all about your event. You'll find it here: $groupurl

Just log in, select the 'Events' tab and then 'Add a community event'. Your post will go out to our community members.

In this case your post has been edited and approved, so there's no need to resubmit.
