Who can use it?
You need a ModTools (MT) account to sign in to Discourse. National volunteers without a community can be given a backup volunteer MT account. Only Freegle people can use Discourse. You don't need to be a member of Freegle Ltd to use it.
A Discourse account is created the first time you log in.
Difficulties logging in
If you see an error viewing Discourse, this is usually fixed by logging out of Discourse (if you can), logging out of MT, closing your browser, reopening it, logging back in to MT, then going to "Us" in Discourse.
Signing in and out
Your Discourse login is linked to your MT login. If you're logged in to MT, you'll be logged in to Discourse too. On a different browser, you'll see an MT login screen; once logged in, you'll be redirected back to Discourse. If the redirect doesn't work, go to https://discourse.ilovefreegle.org/ again and you should be logged in automatically.

Log out of Discourse by clicking your avatar (top right), then the Preferences icon, then Log Out. The "Log out all" option under Preferences -> Account does the same thing.
Username and email address
Your Discourse username and notification email address are set by MT (you don't need your Discourse username to log in). If you change your name or email, log out and back in to Discourse for the change to appear - Discourse admins can't change these for you.
Your username is your MT "Display name" (set in MT Settings -> Personal), with spaces converted to underscores. If two people share a name, one gets a "1" added at the end. People can mention you on Discourse, e.g. @Chris_Cant - if you change your name, old mentions of it will stop working.
Your notification email address is also the one you must send from if you want to post replies or new topics by email.
