Sex toys

In a 2025 discussion on Discourse, most participants said they would not allow offers of sex toys on their communities.

Reasons included:

• The site should be family-friendly, i.e. not showing items that other members would not want children to see
• Much too personal an item
• Risk of it being unsanitary
• Risk that the member might be ‘fishing’ for who knows what
• Offer might not be serious, posted as a joke while drunk (esp. if using an image taken from a website)

At least one such offer had been posted in the past, and was not reposted, but the local volunteer did not know whether the item was taken, or whether the member quickly withdrew the offer after comments from other members.
