Why Use Twitter?

Twitter was bought by Elon Musk, renamed to X, and currently is rapidly declining in use and usefulness.

Cat posted about this on a Central conversation about whether we should replace our Twitter/X presence on social media with another platform. The Board voted to stop Twitter integration in November 2023, which means all local pages are no longer linked via Modtools. The national Twitter account remains. https://discourse.ilovefreegle.org/t/replacement-for-twitter/6663/56

As well as providing your members an easy way to see posts from the group, you can use Twitter to spread the word.

In that way they get notification that you are following them and they may look at your twitter profile and then follow you or at the least find out about Freegle. It is a great way to spread the word. I usually chose local Freegle groups, Local Councils & Councillors, your local MP.s and maybe any interested in the environment. You local political parties, (don't forget the green party).
