View source for National Fundraising

There are a variety of ways that people can donate to Freegle nationally, either by direct payment or by using services that donate to a chosen charity.  (see [[Donations for Freegle]] for details).

===Website===

The website has a facility to donate - https://www.ilovefreegle.org/donate , and a Gift Aid form https://www.ilovefreegle/giftaid.

Members are asked to help on Freegle Direct group pages when they have completed a successful transaction.


===Birthday appeals===
In August 2025 it was decided to try to raise extra donations by sending out a Birthday emails.  Planned to be sent out as groups reach their birthdays, an email or popup is sent to all the members of the group that have given their consent to be contacted.

Donations received through these appeals receive an auto thankyou, including a cake image.

===Competitions===
Occasionally, there are competitions that Freegle nationally have entered, examples:

Freegle UK won the March 2013 Direct Debit Big Break competition.  The winners were decided by popularity via online voting. The gross amount was £2,000, net £1,928.

We took part in an online voting competition, Upgrade Your World, run by Microsoft as part of their promotional launch of Windows 10.
Freegle was one of the winners, receiving $50,000.  See [[Upgrade Your World 15/10/15]]

An online voting competition was run by Ebay, [[Ebay My Favourite Charity]]. In 2016 we won the second award of £3,000, and in 2017 we won the top award of £7,000.
