Additional information 2022:
 
If a person carries scrap metal as part of a business or for profit, they must have an upper tier ease carrier licence if it’s not scrap they have created. The registration number will always start CBDU.
 
If you ever want to check a waste carrier is registered go to GOV.UK and type Public Register in the search bar. Failing that call 03708 506 506 8am to 6pm week days only.
