If you are looking for things to sell on, whether its for charity, or as part of a business - if for example you refurbish bikes or computers and sell them on, or if you want things for a car boot sale or a charity shop - that's fine. It still keeps things out of landfill. We just ask you, out of courtesy and the spirit of Freegle, to say that's what the things are for. This will give people the choice

If you are giving something away, and you specifically don't want it to be sold on, please do feel free to say so. Just remember that Freegle isn't about need - it's not a charitable organisation - and people who sell on are still keeping things out of the bin, but we understand if you would prefer this not to happen.

Obviously, this doesn't apply to people selling on or giving away things that they have used and no longer need, just things that have been asked for with the sole intention of selling on.

We hope this makes things clearer, and we thank you again for your support.

ADMIN: Freegle, selling, and keeping things out of the tip

Freegle has been created to keep unwanted things out of landfill. That's its main aim. And we are really grateful for all your activity, your WANTS and your OFFERS, because all of these are cutting down what is going in the bin or in the tip.

A few members have raised queries about selling on items. As the mods team, we have talked about this a lot. We can't really enforce rules about this, as it's too hard to see what happens once things have been passed on. We just want to ask you to do something for us.
