Welcome to the Publicity Portal

We all recognise the need for effective publicity and promotion of our groups and Freegle. The pages in this portal offer you ideas and resources to increase your group profile and membership and grow Freegle as an organisation.

Freegle Media is the central Freegle working group that deals with 'all things publicity'. All Freegle volunteers are welcome to join this group to share and get ideas.


  • Republishing allows your group's posts to be visible via sites like Facebook and Twitter
  • Getting Press Coverage is an invaluable guide for groups looking for support from their local press
  • Contacting Councils is a great idea, so here's a quick guide on how to do it
  • Council Help will give you some ideas about how your local Council could help when have established contact
  • Useful Websites are listed here which could be good for getting the word out online about your group
  • PR Materials covers a wide range of resources, from leaflet ideas to online promotional tools
  • Events that you might attend or organise - some tips and guidelines
  • Local Funding might be available to fund some publicity
  • Awards - information and links to photos of awards we have entered.
  • Freegle Doodles - Logo doodles for special days to brighten up Freegle pages
