This Report covers the period of 1 October to 22 November 2013

GIVE AS YOU LIVE (GAYL)

Freegle has entered into partnership with GAYL in order to promote and fundraise for Freegle. Cat, Edward and Jane are leading this partnership.

Cat, Edward and Jane may be paid at a rate of £200 per day, up to a total of £3,000 in order to carry out the additional media and IT tasks required. It is estimated that the IT work will take 4.5-6.5 days, the media work 8 – 10 days and the data analysis/statistics 0.5 to 1 day Edward has agreed with Chris to split the IT work with Chris doing the website changes and Edward the Freegle Direct and email work. The data analysis/statistics has been carried out by Jane.

Freegle will provide a blog for the duration of the campaign and a member newsletter. We may be able to continue with these after the campaign.

The Reps agreed that groups should be given the option to opt out of enabling popups promoting the partnership.

So far since we started this campaign, the number of people who have signed up to support Freegle and gone on to either search or shop has increased from 87 to 800, so we are seeing considerable success. We expect that this will provide significant funds for Freegle over the next year. GAYL estimate that each supporter raises £25 per year, though we would expect our supporters to raise less than that.

MEDIA

Database of Contacts

Cat has agreed to compile a database of media contacts. A first payment of £500 has been paid and this will be followed by a further £500 on completion. This money is allocated from the donation of £5,500 which was given specifically for work to be undertaken to help Freegle become sustainable.

STRUCTURE

Industrial and Provident Society (IPS)

The Trading Subsidiary Team consulted us on a proposal for the a new Board to have nine elected Directors with the option for the Board to co-opt two others. This is to allow for the Board to take advantage of specialist expertise in particular areas. The Reps agreed with this suggestion.

We also agreed to their recommendation for the proposed national poll question, revised report and date for poll of 25th November for the IPS conversion.
