STRUCTURE GROUP REPORT OCTOBER 2010

<br> This is a summary of discussions since our last report of 30th September 2010, covering messages 5649 to 5834 . Our membership stands at 70, two less than last month.

For a while now we have been working on a number of documents to set out the most important structures and policies within Freegle. We are nearing completion on a lot of these, but could still use some more help - particularly from people prepared to lead on tasks. This involves publishing drafts, soliciting and collecting comments, and shepherding the document through until it's ready to send to Central. Please think about whether you could help here.

=== Governing Document ===

Task 16, priority 1

Discussion was started on the scope of this document in the light of extensive other documentation. This is still awaiting a task leader to take this forward.

=== Reps Working Practices ===

Task 46 Priority 1 and Reps Remit Task 39 priority 2

The document 'Freegle Reps' was proofread and sent to Central for comment. Discussions ensued on both Structure and Central about one clause, but this was resolved and the document was declared ready for polling. It will be subject to a Volunteer poll when the mass mailing system is available.

=== Owner Address Reliability ===

Task 19 Priority 2

This task was brought forward for discussion and given a higher priority due to the 'backlog' of items needing to be polled. A proposal for introducing a more proactive approach to Central membership, with the aim of trying to get all groups to have at least one person as a member, has been forwarded to the Reps for their consideration. A second proposal of involvement of Central mods with approval of members for other working groups is being discussed, along with the extent of information needed to be kept.

Task 37 priority 2

This document was proposed to Central, has been proofread and now awaits putting to a poll of all Volunteers.

=== Working Groups Document ===

Task 28 priority 2

The progress of this document was queried. It needs some tidying up and small issues resolved, then will be posted on Central for comment.

=== Aims and Ethos of Freegle ===

Task 33 priority 3

The statement on aims and ethos of Freegle was uploaded to the Wiki following the consultation period on Central - http://wiki.ilovefreegle.org/Aims_and_Ethos .
