Update November 2023

The Board decided to stop integration of Twitter in Modtools. The conversation started on Central after the AGM in September 2023, and the decision to quit Twitter for individual groups/communities was made - - https://discourse.ilovefreegle.org/t/replacement-for-twitter/6663

The national Twitter account remains live.

Set up a Twitter page

Go to https://twitter.com/

Use the email groupname-volunteers@groups.ilovefreegle.org
We use owner emails so the group can be recovered by sending a password reset to the group email.

Create a secure, unguessable password. Twitter may lock accounts if they are hacked and used to distribute spam. As they are unhelpful when it comes to getting them unlocked, it is better to choose a secure password in the first place.
