Things not to do
From Freegle Wiki
To start with here's some clarification as to what this page is about. These aren't rules that we're trying to slip in without anyone noticing. This isn't advice from a moral perspective on how to run your group or handle members, you can look here for that. Basically some settings on Yahoo are irreversible and so this page is about those setting as these are things you should probably avoid doing unless there are very exceptional circumstances.
Invite only
When you are looking at membership options, there are three settings: Open, Closed (approval needed) and Invite Only. If you tick the Invite Only box, and change your group to Invite Only, people will not be able to join your group and you can't change it back. We highly recommend you don't do it, new members will find it very hard to join.
Enabling members to hide email addresses
Below Membership Type there is an option called 'Email Address Display' If you tick the box that allows members to hide their email address from the group, you cannot change it later. This is a useful feature in groups that operate on a basis that members reply to the group, not to each other, but with Freegle groups it's important that transactions can happen between individuals. If a member opts to hide their email address they won't get any responses to their posts and probably won't be able to figure out why.
