This is a list of terminology and abbreviations used on the central Freegle groups.

- FD
- Freegle Direct - a clever application, developed by Edward, that gives members access to groups without having to go anywhere near the Yahoo!
- Firefox
- A web browser alternative to Internet Explorer (IE) which is needed if you want to use the Mod Plug-in (and is a great browser anyway!).
- FRG
- Freegle Representative Group - Group of 9 elected Representatives.
G
- GAT
- Group Affiliation Team - the team which evaluates and approves new groups for listing on http://www.iLoveFreegle.org/groups.
- GO
- Group Owner - The owner of a local Freegle group.
M
- Member Plug-in
- Like the Mod Plug-in below, but for members of the group.
- Mod Plug-in
- An 'add-on' that Volunteers can use to help run the Yahoo group. It provides a layer of extra facilities on top of the basic Yahoo functions and makes it oh-so-much-easier to moderate.
O
- ORO Team
- Ombudsman and Returning Officer (RO) Team
R
- Reps
- The Representatives who form the FRG.
S
- Subject Line
- A line in an e-mail that indicates the subject of the message
W
- Working Groups / WG
- Central groups, open to all Freegle Volunteers, which discuss and organise how the Freegle organisation works.
