Google Analytics

The Freegle web sites use Google Analytics to track site visitors and various events at the site. The following sites (and their aliases) are currently tracked:

  • freegle.in
  • freegle.it
  • mm.ilovefreegle.org
  • wiki.iLoveFreegle.org
  • www.ilovefreegle.org

Google Analytics JavaScript is called whenever a page is requested. This stores detailed information about the request, such as the page requested, the browser used, and which search engine/term was used, if any.

Event Logging

In addition, some Freegle pages store addition event information, ie to note that certain events or actions happened.

mm.ilovefreegle.org event logging

The Freegle Message Maker logs the group and which Send button was used:

  • Category/Action/Label
  • Group/Load/group alias
  • Group/Sent/Either Yahoo or Email

www.ilovefreegle.org event logging

The Find a Group maps page and the region page logs these events:

  • Category/Action/Label
  • Groups/Search/user's search term
  • Groups/GeolocationOK/Latitude,Longitude,Accuracy
  • Groups/Geolocation/address found
  • Groups/GeolocationFail/error message
  • Groups/initialiseFail/exception message
  • Groups/processKMLFail/exception message
  • Groups/displayGeolocationFail/exception message
  • Groups/doSearchFail/exception message
  • Groups/showAddressResultFail/exception message

At the moment, the Find a Group gadget and other tools do not log their usage.
