Remit of the Start Working Group

As drafted by the Freegle Start Working Group and submitted to the Freegle Reps on 31 January 2010:

The Start Group should be a permanent working group to discuss and recommend principles and procedures for listing new Freegle groups, and procedures to be followed for groups leaving Freegle. In particular we should discuss and make recommendations to the Reps on:

  1. The permanent structure for the Group Affiliation Team (GAT), and a procedure for the choosing and retention of members of an approval group.
  2. Matters raised by the GAT which are not clearly covered by the agreed principles in operation
  3. An application procedure using the questionnaire recently provided.
  4. An email and information sheet for successful applications although this may already be covered in the Mod Handbook
  5. An appeals procedure for unsuccessful application, in conjunction with the People Group. Perhaps the Legal Working Group can provide guidance on this.
  6. A buddy scheme for new owners/mods - again in conjunction with the People Group.
  7. A leaving procedure and how to ensure it is carried out.
  8. A procedure for Freegle Groups changing ownership
  9. A database to be set up which is open to everyone who wants to use it, as to who they can approach for help, documents, settings etc.

GAT

The Group Affiliation Team (GAT) assesses new group applications. The GAT Procedures are discussed and proposed on the Start group.
